LAST MEETING OF JDU SENATE HELD IN JUNE – TIME OF FAREWELL AND SUMMARY

The last meeting of the Senate of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa in the 2020-2024 term was held on June 26, 2024 (this does not mean the end of the Senator's mandate, which expires at the end of August 2024). After the end of the official part, in which the Senators adopted resolutions deciding on the current life of the University, the Rector-elect of Jan Dlugosz University, prof. Janusz Kapuśniak, thanked the Rector of JDU, prof. Anna Wypych-Gawrońska, for holding the position of the President of the Senate of Jan Dlugosz University (prof. Anna Wypych-Gawrońska held it in two terms: 2016-2020 and 2020-2024). Thanking the Rector for all activities related to the work in the Senate, prof. Janusz Kapuśniak emphasized numerous merits related to the development of the University. Among the numerous achievements, it is worth mentioning the most important ones: obtaining the status of a classical university (from June 1, 2023), granting the University the status of a European University, admission to the group of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities, and others related to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, when Senate meetings were held online.

On behalf of all members, Rector-elect prof. Janusz Kapuśniak handed over a commemorative congratulatory plaque to the Rector. On the elegantly framed board there is a photograph of the Rector from the ceremonial session of the Senate, as well as pins symbolising the functioning of the University under the different names: 2004-2018, 2018-2023 and currently.

The Rector said goodbye to those present in the Senate Hall, directing thanks to them and emphasizing their deep commitment to work, which best illustrates the successes achieved by the University in recent years. A collective photo of the participants was taken at the very end of the meeting.
