"OPEN YOUR MIND" OPEN SEMINARS OF PHD STUDENTS – 2024 EDITION
On June 19, June 24 and June 28, the "Open Your Mind" Open Seminars of PhD Students - 2024 edition were held, organised by JDU Doctoral School and JDU Interdisciplinary Scientific and Research Centre.
The seminars are a summary of the results of scientific research or artistic works and other achievements of doctoral students for the last academic year. They are also an excellent opportunity to implement the idea of interdisciplinarity in our School.
PhD students representing 13 scientific disciplines, as well as the University's researchers participating in the seminars, had the opportunity to learn about the impressive range of research tools and methodological approaches used by doctoral students, participate in interdisciplinary discussions, and notice how the disciplines represented at the school can interpenetrate each other and lead to interesting relationships.
The speeches of our doctoral students showed that the principles of equal opportunities and non-discrimination are implemented at the Doctoral School. PhD students conduct their research in accordance with the idea of sustainable development, e.g. looking for innovative pro-ecological solutions to research problems.
They showed great scientific and artistic activity, the ability to raise funds, and were winners of numerous awards and distinctions.
In 2023 – PhD student Przemysław Chałupka, and in 2024 – PhD student Wojciech Gurgul were awarded the scholarship of the Minister of Science for outstanding young scientists, and PhD student Dorota Bujak – winner of the scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
