The participants of the event also listened to a lecture by prof. Artur Żywiołek, entitled "The end of the university?".

On behalf of the Faculties, the graduates were also bid farewell by Maria Murawska and Beata Pleszyniak (English Philology), Aleksandra Durak (Polish Philology), Krystian Ceglarek (Journalism and Media Culture), Marlena Masłoń (Iberian Studies) and Mateusz Bęben, Chairman of the Faculty Council of the Student Government.

An important point of the graduation ceremony at the Faculty of Law and Economics and the Faculty of Humanities was the ceremony of transferring the tassel on the birettas, i.e. the ceremonial transfer of the tassel of the academic cap from one side to the other. This is a custom present in many universities around the world during the graduation ceremony. Though simple in form, this ritual is full of deep meaning and symbolises a student's transition from graduate status to that of an educated person with full academic qualifications. The tassel is transferred from right to left.

Traditionally, at the end, the graduates tossed their birettas in a gesture of joy at graduation.

Both ceremonies were attended by parents, friends and relatives of the graduates. There were congratulations, flowers, joint photographs, as well as farewell talks with lecturers, supervisors and other staff of the University. The ceremony was graced by the performance of a quartet from the Department of Music of the Faculty of Art of JDU.

Such solemn events related to the farewell of the graduates took place for the first time in the history of the University. The organisers announce that in the coming years they will not only continue them, but will add new interesting points to make the ceremony even more attractive and make it an unforgettable event for the graduates.
