A VISIT TO RADIO KATOWICE – THERE ARE CHANCES FOR VALUABLE COOPERATION
The Rector of Jan Dlugosz University, prof. Janusz Kapuśniak, visited the headquarters of Radio Katowice. During the visit, Professor talked to the Editor-in-Chief of the Station Ewelina Kosałka-Pasja and the Coordinator of the Częstochowa editorial office Krzysztof Słabikowski. During the meeting, issues related to establishing closer cooperation than before were discussed. Its level may concern internships for JDU students. Students of such faculties as journalism and media culture, multimedia engineering, photography and visual communication creation, but also others have a chance to benefit.
- We can offer journalists and listeners of the Radio Station much more than it seems. What I mean are, for example, expert statements, where our lecturers will play the role of specialists on specific topics," explains prof. Janusz Kapuśniak. "In this way, information or comments on current events or phenomena will reach listeners throughout southern Poland, and even much further, beyond its borders.
The Editor-in-Chief also spoke in a similar tone. She emphasized the rank and importance of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa in the region. This is also confirmed by the fact that the initiative to start talks with the University was first put forward by the authorities of Radio Katowice themselves.
The meeting (held on November 19, 2024 in the building at Ligonia in Katowice) was also an opportunity to get familiarised with: the people, the equipment, the past, as well as the potential of this meritorious and one of the most recognisable stations in the entire region.
