MAGDALENA SNARSKA - MOVEMENTS OF LIGHT AT JDU LIBRARY GALLERY
"Magdalena Snarska about the exhibition:
The exhibition titled MOVEMENTS OF LIGHT at the University Library Gallery UJD presents oil paintings, pastels, and drawings. The works are the result of my personal artistic exploration of the phenomenon of light in relation to harmony and beauty, which are the ultimate goals of my work. Referring to light as an extraordinary phenomenon that influences its surroundings both in the darkness of night and the brightness of day fills me, as an artist, with an unceasing sense of awe. The determination to express this awe remains alive and unchanged.
At the roots of the representations I create lies the memory of vivid sensory experiences uniquely intertwined with spiritual experience. My cycles of paintings, pastels, and drawings are built by following a path of deepening phenomena fundamentally connected to landscape. Harmony is formed by the relationships of geometric forms pulsating with the light of vibrating matter. The compositional, geometric arrangement of elements organizes the image, which arises thanks to a journey into the depths of oneself, the study of memory, and impressions that are projections of one's own sensitivity.
