REPRESENTATIVES OF JDU AND OPOLE UNIVERSITY MEET TO DEVELOP COOPERATION IN THE FACE OF MODERN MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIES
In February 2025, a meeting was held in Opole between the authorities of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa and the authorities of the University of Opole and the University Clinical Hospital. The event was attended by the highest representatives of both universities and the management of the hospital, which emphasized the importance of the initiative for the development of medical and clinical education. The aim of the meeting was to deepen academic cooperation and exchange experiences in the field of modern methods of educating medical students, including, above all, the organisation of clinical classes. The dynamic development of medical technologies, including advanced imaging systems, artificial intelligence in diagnostics and innovative surgical techniques, poses new challenges for universities and clinical centres. The implementation of modern educational tools, such as medical simulations, virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) and telemedicine systems, which enable better preparation of students for work in clinical settings, plays a key role. During the talks, the importance of close cooperation between universities and clinical centres was emphasized, which are not only a place for practical vocational training, but also centres for the implementation of the latest technological achievements in diagnostics and therapy. The exchange of experience with the University Teaching Hospital allowed us to discuss the strategy of organising clinical classes in an optimal way for students and medical staff. The meeting was a step towards further strengthening cooperation and creating a modern model of medical education, taking into account both the development of practical competences and adaptation to the changing technological realities in medicine. The delegation of Jan Dlugosz University also had the opportunity to visit the departments of the University Clinical Hospital, where modern methods of diagnostics and therapy used in everyday clinical practice were presented. The event took place in a constructive and partnership atmosphere. At the end, gratitude to the hosts for their hospitality was expressed and readiness for further cooperation was emphasized, including the organisation of a return visit of the representatives of the University of Opole in Częstochowa. Both universities expressed their willingness to continue the dialogue on the development of medical education, taking into account the latest technological achievements in medicine.
