TEST ACCESS TO APA DATABASES

From March 10 to April 8, 2025, the JDU Library invites everyone to test APA databases. The databases published by the American Psychological Association are the most extensive source of scientific literature in the field of psychology and mental health.

APA databases are available on the EBSCOhost platform. 

When you enter the EBSCO website, click "Search" and select a specific database from the drop-down list. 

APA PsycInfo
The APA PsycInfo database contains more than 4 million records and abstracts of articles from scientific journals, books, book chapters, and dissertations in psychology and related disciplines from 1597 onwards. 99% of the journals are peer-reviewed. The database also contains information on psychological aspects related to fields such as medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, technology, linguistics, anthropology, business, law and others.

APA PsycBooks
The APA PsycBOOKS database includes more than 65,000 PDF chapters from more than 4,000 books published by the APA (American Psychological Association) and other well-known publishers, and the multi-volume APA Handbooks in Psychology encyclopedia series. It also includes more than 2,800 classic works of historical significance in the field of psychology, the digitised APA/Oxford University Press Encyclopedia of Psychology, and the APA Handbooks in Psychology series.  

APA PsycTests
APA PsycTESTS is a repository of psychological tests. It contains thousands of instruments and tests ready for immediate download and use during research and in the teaching process. The database has an international scope and offers access to a growing number of tests, issued not only in English, but also in 40 other languages. The APA PsycTESTS database is an authoritative source of structured information on tests relevant to psychologists and specialists in related fields such as: psychiatry, management, business, education, social sciences, neurobiology, law, medicine, social care. The database focuses on modern cases of used tests, and the total scope of the database spans more than a century. 

APA PsycTherapy
PsycTHERAPY is a unique collection of video materials in the field of psychology, supporting clinical education and education in the field of psychological counseling. Produced by the American Psychological Association (APA), the PsycTHERAPY collection offers access to more than 500 recordings of therapy sessions using the latest psychotherapy techniques. PsycTHERAPY provides clinicians, counselors, students, and interns with the opportunity to observe real-life psychotherapy videos. This collection includes proven methods showing typical obstacles encountered during therapy sessions. The videos are accompanied by the corresponding transcripts.  The PsycTHERAPY collection takes into account the practice of more than 140 well-known therapists and offers more than 240 psychotherapeutic topics, such as addiction anxiety, phobias, relationship problems, and depression. These topics are addressed using a variety of therapeutic modalities, including integrated behavioral health care, cognitive behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy.

APA PsycExtra
APA PsycEXTRA is a full-text database published by the American Psychological Association (APA), which is a supplement to the other databases published by the APA association. The database contains over 300,000 records in the field of the so-called "grey literature", intended for specialists in the field of psychology and behavioral sciences. Documents in the database include: research reports, government reports, conference materials, news services, newspapers, popular magazines, brochures, standards and more. The database uses the Thesaurus of Psychological Index Terms ® to index its own thesaurus.
