CELEBRATION OF 80TH ANNIVERSARY OF AZS CZESTOCHOWA

On March 20, 2025, a ceremonial gala was held at the Academic Cultural Centre of the Czestochowa University of Technology on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Academic Sports Association in Częstochowa. The event gathered many distinguished guests, representatives of the academic world, athletes and AZS supporters. 
It was also attended by representatives of the Rector's and Dean's authorities of our University: acting Rector, Vice-Rector for Research prof. Bogusław Przywora, Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Internationalisation, prof. Marcin Sosnowski, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, prof. Przemysław Sznurkowski and Dean of the W. Biegański Collegium Medicum, prof. Leon Rak, who expressed their sincere congratulations and appreciation for AZS Czestochowa, emphasizing its many years of contribution to the development of academic sport. 
The celebrations began with the opening of the exhibition "We play on with AZS Czestochowa", which shows the rich history of the club and its impact on the development of academic sport. Then the participants had the opportunity to listen to the AZS anthem and the traditional song "Gaudeamus" performed by the Academic Choir of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa. 
One of the key points of the programme was a historical presentation of the club's achievements over the years. The event was also graced by speeches by invited guests, who emphasized the importance of the AZS in shaping young athletes and developing a passion for physical activity. 
During the gala, distinguished activists and athletes of the AZS were honoured, appreciating their contribution to the development of the club and its successes. The culmination of the ceremony was the performance of the Stanisław Hadyna Song and Dance Ensemble "Śląsk", which added a unique character to the event. 
The jubilee celebrations were not only a moment to sum up the rich achievements of AZS Częstochowa, but also an inspiration to further develop the passion for sports among students and academic youth.
