Appointment of new University Council members
We would like to inform that the procedure for appointing a new JDU University Council for the 2025-2028 term has begun. The rules of appointment can be found in the Statue of JDU, the resolution of the Senate of JDU and the order of the Rector of JDU . The newly appointed University Council will function from 1 January 2025.

Pursuant to § 23 of the University Statute, the University Council consists of: 6 members appointed by the JDU Senate, including:
- at least 3 members from outside the University community,
- the Chairman of the University Student Government Council.
The Chairman of the University Council is its member from outside the University community.
The University Council may be a person who:
1) has full legal capacity;
2) enjoys full public rights;
3) has not been convicted by a final judgment for an intentional offence or an intentional fiscal offence;
4) has not been punished with a disciplinary penalty;
5) in the period from 22 July 1944 to 31 July 1990, did not work in the state security organs within the meaning of Article 2 of the Act of 18 October 2006 on disclosure of information on documents of state security organs from the years 1944-1990 and the content of these documents (Journal of Laws of 2024, items 273 and 834), she did not serve in them or cooperate with these bodies;
6) has a university degree – in the case of members of the University Council appointed by the Senate;
7) has not reached the age of 70 by the date of the commencement of the term of office.
Membership in the University Council may not be combined with the performance of the function of a body of this or another HEI, membership in the council of another HEI or employment in public administration. The same person may be a member of the University Council for no more than two consecutive terms. Candidates for members of the University Council are proposed to the JDU Senate by the Nomination Committee, appointed by the JDU Rector, from among employees representing academic and non-academic staff. The application with the application of a candidate for a member of the University Council shall be submitted to the Chairman of the Nomination Committee in the Rector's Office by 20 November 2024.
