Faculty of Humanities
The Faculty's staff conducts advanced scientific research, in the field of theory and history of literature, comparative literary and cultural studies, the history of Polish literature (with particular emphasis on the literature of the interwar period), diachronic and historical linguistics, cognitive science, general and Polish history (including the history of historiography and recent history), the history of culture, literature of the German-speaking and English-speaking areas, and the development of competences in the process of teaching foreign languages, philosophy (with particular emphasis on the contribution of Polish philosophers and logicians to solving contemporary problems).
The Faculty's employees develop lively scientific and research cooperation with leading academic centres in Poland and Europe. A long list of contacts enables the implementation of joint projects with universities from the Czech Republic, France, Lithuania, Germany, Italy, Spain and Ukraine.
