NEARLY PLN 7.3 MILLION FOR JDU AS PART OF "ACCESSIBLE UNIVERSITY II. THE DEVELOPMENT OF ORGANISATIONAL CHANGES AND IMPROVING THE COMPETENCES OF STAFF IN THE FIELD OF DISABILITY AT JDU"

We are pleased to announce that the project entitled "Accessible University II. The development of organisational changes and improving the competences of staff in the field of disability at JDU", submitted by the University and developed by dr Anna Irasiak, has passed the substantive evaluation and has been recommended for funding in the call no. FERS.03.01-IP.08-001/24 entitled " More and more accessible universities", under 03.01 Accessibility of higher education of the European Funds for Social Development programme 2021-2027. The JDU project was selected by NCBR experts from among 120 applications submitted in the call for proposals.

The aim of the project is to implement activities that will lead to an increase in the broadly understood accessibility of JDU for people with special needs, including people with disabilities, taking into account all aspects of its functioning. Thanks to the implementation of the project activities, it will be possible to provide people with special needs with the opportunity to take advantage of the higher education offer at JDU.

The main results that will be achieved thanks to the implementation of the project will be:
• development of the activities of the Disability Support Office,
• development of the necessary procedures for ensuring the accessibility of the university to the needs of people with special needs and their mapping,
• development of plans for the elimination of architectural, digital and information and communication barriers,
• updating and developing information on ensuring accessibility by JDU,
• performing activities in the field of architectural accessibility,
• developing the visual identity of the university constituting a coherent and accessible information system,
• adapting the administered websites and IT tools,
• developing physical education and foreign languages adapted to people with special needs,
• increasing the competences of JDU staff in the field of knowledge about accessibility, awareness of disability and other related issues.

The project will be a continuation and extension of the activities initiated in the project entitled "Accessible University. The program to support organisational changes and improve the competences of staff in the field of disability at JDU", which ended in December 2023.

Project implementation period: 03/03/2025-28/02/2029

Project budget: PLN 7,523,407.10, including co-financing of PLN 7,297,704.88.
