ABOUT ZOFIA KOSSAK IN ENGLISH

The Publishing House of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa has published a publication entitled "Zofia Kossak – a priceless heritage" (2023) edited by Elżbieta Hurnik, Anna Wypych-Gawrońska, Ewelina Dziewońska-Chudy in cooperation with Artur Warzocha, dedicated to the outstanding Polish writer Zofia Kossak. The book is an English translation of the monograph entitled "Zofia Kossak – priceless heritage", published in 2020 by the JDU Publishing House. Both publications are the culmination of an academic conference organised on the 50th anniversary of the writer's death (Senate of the Republic of Poland and JDU 2018). The event was accompanied by an exhibition prepared by the Zofia Kossak-Szatkowska Museum in Górki Wielkie and a literary and artistic competition for children and young people entitled „Zofia Kossak na nowo-komiksowo".

The invitation to participate in the conference and the publication was accepted by literary scholars and promoters of the writer's work from Polish and foreign academic centres, Krystyna Heska-Kwaśniewicz, Zdzisława Mokranowska, Krzysztof Dybciak and François Rosset. We hope that the articles, as well as the reminiscences of Anna Fenby Taylor's granddaughter, will gain the approval of readers and will bring closer the profile and literary achievements of Zofia Kossak not only in Poland, but also abroad.
