KRUPed met at JDU and made important decisions

Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa hosted members of the Conference of Rectors of Pedagogical Universities PL: "KRUPed". The meeting was chaired by prof. Barbara Marcinkowska, Rector of the Maria Grzegorzewska University in Warsaw. 

The meeting of rectors in Częstochowa should be considered historic. The reason for such a statement is the fact that during the meeting a resolution was passed to change the name of the Conference. It was decided that the current name ("Conference of Rectors of Pedagogical Universities (KRUPed)") did not fully exhaust the tasks set by the Association of Rectors, so it was decided to change the name to broaden the possibilities of activities undertaken by the Conference. It was agreed that the new, binding name would be: Conference of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions for Teachers "KRUPed". The extension of the name is intended to encourage participation in the work of the association of other universities and, above all, to emphasise the importance of teacher education in higher education and science even more strongly. During the meetings, issues related to the role of HEIs associated in KRUPed in the process of teacher education and in-service teacher training and amendments to the Law on Higher Education and Science were also discussed. The meeting was attended by representatives of the following universities:

Pomeranian University in Słupsk, 
University of Siedlce, 
Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa

It is worth noting that the Conference brings together Polish universities that provide teacher education as part of their activities. One of the most important activities of KRUPed is initiating changes in the field of teacher education and issuing opinions on new legislative proposals in the area of education and upbringing. The meeting took place on April 8-9, 2024 at Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa.
