“Live healthy and be active” project for seniors from Slovakia
Just before the May weekend, classes began as part of the international project entitled “Live healthy and be active” at the University of Žilina. Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa was represented by: Sylwia Stachurska-Ćwiek – head of JDU Lifelong Learning Centre (PL: UCKU) and Aleksandra Kozak – chief specialist of the UCKU, and from the University of Žilina by: Lucia Hrebeňárová – head of the Institute of Lifelong Learning and Jana Sňahničanová – coordinator of the University of the Third Age at th University of Žilina.
During practical workshops, the participants deepened their knowledge on topics such as first aid, heart and blood in the elderly, bones and muscles, medications, hormones, skin and other current topics useful for older people who want to live a healthy and active life.
This weekend, May 17-18, 2024, seniors from Slovakia are invited to classes by the staff of our University from dr W. Bieganski Collegium Medicum: dr Magdalena Myga-Nowak, prof. UJD, mgr Ewa Starczewska, mgr Agnieszka Surgiel-Gemza, mgr Anna Ślusarek, on behalf of our partners: Ľubica Mindeková and Kristín Chaparro – coordinators of the University of the Third Age at the University of Žilina.
As in the previous year, the classes will be translated into Slovak by Katarzyna Biel.
At the same time, on Saturday, May 18, 2024, Polish participants of the project will also meet for the second cycle of classes as part of the fourth edition of the event.
