JAN DLUGOSZ UNIVERSITY CELEBRATION DAY – PROF. JERZY BUZEK AWARDED TITLE OF DOCTOR HONORIS CAUSA
For the second time in history, under a new name, the community of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa celebrated the University Day (June 3, 2024). The highlight of the event was the awarding of the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to prof. Jerzy Buzek.
- The Senate unanimously awarded the honorary doctorate of our University to prof. Jerzy Buzek in recognition of the Professor's great merits in the field of scientific and research activity and all excellent activities of groundbreaking importance for contemporary Poland and Europe in the field of social and political life - emphasized prof. Anna Wypych-Gawrońska, Rector of Jan Dlugosz University. - No wonder that so many higher education units appreciate the title of doctor honoris causa of Professor's activities and we can only be glad that we have joined the group of these universities. I would also like to emphasize that Prof. Buzek is one of the politicians who are always interested in the activities of our University and who provide all possible support to our community at all stages of its development. Professor, we would like to congratulate you on your exceptional and wonderful achievements, with such a huge impact on the history of Poland and Europe, and thank you for appreciating the place and importance of our Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa in higher education and science!

- It is a great honour to be appreciated by Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa with the honourable distinction of Doctor Honoris Causa – complimented prof. By virtue of the resolutions of the Council for the Awarding of Academic Degrees and Degrees in Arts, the academic degree of habilitated doctor was awarded to:
1. dr hab. Dorota Ortenburger, based on the assessment of the general scientific achievements and the series of publications – "Psychological determinants of supporting taekwondo competitors in the salutogenetic perspective",
2. dr hab. Andrzej Mroczkowski, based on the assessment of the general scientific achievements and the series of publications – "The impact of the backward fall technique forced by the rotary trainer on the risk of the head to injuries",
3. dr hab. Teresa Drozdek-Małolepsza, based on the assessment of her general scientific achievements and a series of thematically related scientific articles entitled "Women's sport in Poland in the years 1918-1939".
Pursuant to the resolutions of the Council for the Awarding of Academic Degrees and Degrees in the field of arts, in the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic years, doctoral degrees were awarded to 26 people:
- In the field of humanities – 14 people, including 6 people in the discipline of history, 2 people in the discipline of linguistics, 6 people in the discipline of literary studies,
- In the field of social sciences in the discipline of legal sciences, 2 people were awarded a doctoral diploma
- In the field of exact and natural sciences – 5 persons, including 3 persons in the discipline of chemical sciences and 2 persons in the discipline of physical sciences.
- In the field of art – 5 people, including 1 person in the discipline of musical arts,
- 4 people in the discipline of fine arts and conservation of works of art.

6. Dr Adrianna Julia Zawadzka-Molka, who presented her doctoral dissertation entitled: "The birth of nubiology – a new field of scientific studies as a result of the Nubian UNESCO campaign" prepared under the supervision of prof. Stefan Jakobielski;
7. dr Monika Maria Wójcik, who presented her doctoral dissertation entitled: "Spontaneous delayed speech development" prepared under the supervision of prof. Zbigniew Tarkowski;
8. dr Paulina Weronika Stacherczyk-Łyczbińska, who presented her doctoral dissertation entitled: "The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the relationship between Polish language education <=> language acquisition by a student with specific needs (in a mass school)" prepared under the supervision of prof. Iwona Nowakowska-Krempna and the assistant supervisor dr Jolanta Szarlej;
9. dr Marzena Stanisława Goner, who presented her doctoral dissertation entitled: "Sejm speeches of Kazimierz Nestor Sapieha (1757-1798) – antiquity in dialogue with the Enlightenment" prepared under the supervision of prof. Robert Zawadzki;

19. dr Diana Monika Rogacz, who presented her doctoral dissertation entitled: "Synthesis and preliminary ecotoxicological evaluation of selected C-thienyl derivatives of phosphonoglycine and c-aryl derivatives of nfosphonomethyl-glycine" prepared under the supervision of prof. Piotr Rychter and assistant supervisor dr Zbigniew Malinowski;
20. dr Oleksand Korolevych, who presented his doctoral dissertation entitled: "Photoactive hybrid structures based on TIO₂ for photovoltaic applications – a computational approach" prepared under the supervision of prof. Małgorzata Makowska-Janusik;
21. dr Kamil Mirosław Skoczylas, who presented his doctoral dissertation entitled: "Analysis of the electron-phonon structure and thermodynamic properties of selected two-dimensional superconductors" prepared under the supervision of prof. Artur Durajski;
22. dr Joanna Świniarska-Szebeszczyk, who presented her doctoral dissertation entitled: "Analysis of performance issues concerning vocal improvisation in jazz music on the basis of selected examples" prepared under the supervision of prof. Janusz Szrom;
23. dr Aleksandra Lasoń, who presented her doctoral dissertation entitled: "Graphic inclusions – coexistence of post-industrial concrete structures and the matter of the human body" prepared under the supervision of prof. Tomasz Chudzik;
24. dr Mateusz Zbigniew Pawełczyk, who presented his doctoral dissertation entitled: "Spirits of people and animals" prepared under the supervision of prof. Bartosz Frączek;
25. dr Marta Daniela Śliwiak, who presented her doctoral dissertation entitled: "A thirty-year-old woman. To be continued" prepared under the supervision of prof. Krystyna Szwajkowska;
26. dr Justyna Amelia Warwas, who prepared her doctoral dissertation entitled: "Hermetic forms of fractal character" prepared under the supervision of prof. Janusz Głowacki.
4 academics of the University who were awarded the academic title of professor (being directly included in the group of 64 titular professors employed at the University) were also appreciated. This group included:
