DIGITAL CUP OF HEAD OF INSTITUTE OF HISTORY - FIRST EDITION

On June 6, 2024, students associated in the Scientific Society of Historians of Jan Dlugosz University together with its Iberian Studies section participated in a special meeting devoted to the broadly understood Spanish La Liga. During the meeting, the participants presented short papers and presentations on the history and successes of their favorite clubs from the Spanish football league, and then participated in a digital competition that selected the top three players. The players on the podium received prizes in the form of monographs referring to the history of football. There are plans to hold cyclical events of this type. Potential future topics include, among others: Bundesliga, Ekstraklasa and MLS. The intention of history students is also to encourage other mates, both from the Faculty of Humanities and other departments of JDU, to compete together in sports, as well as to learn about the importance of football in its historical, social, cultural and international dimensions. 
The event was organised by dr Bartosz Stuła, under the honorary patronage of the Head of the Institute of History – prof. Robert Majzner.
