FAREWELL TO DR GRAŻYNA PIETRUSZEWSKA-KOBIELA
On June 15, 2024, dr Grażyna Pietruszewska-Kobiela passed away. The funeral mass will be held on June 20, 2024 at 12.00 pm in the chapel at the Mater Dolorosa cemetery - at Piekarska in Bytom. After the mass, the urn with ashes will be placed in the family grave at the local cemetery.
Dr Grażyna Pietruszewska-Kobiela will always remain in the memory of the community of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, especially the Faculty of Humanities, as a Lecturer, Head of the Institute of Polish Philology, Vice-Dean, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, and above all, a wise and kind person.

A researcher of Polish literature of the twentieth century and the most recent, an expert in its important trends and vast cultural contexts, has passed away. Throughout her professional life, dr Grażyna Pietruszewska-Kobiela was associated with the Institute of Polish Philology of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, since it was still the Higher School of Pedagogy. She participated in the academic and national scientific life, publishing her works in the University's scientific publishing house and beyond, in scientific journals, in multi-author monographs; She was the editor and co-editor of collective works on contemporary literature. Her research attention included a wide range of issues, from the work of Włodzimierz Perzyński, through the avant-garde phenomena of the interwar period, to cybernetic poetry. An important part of her scientific achievements were articles on female representatives of Polish literature, including Halina Poświatowska. Observing literary phenomena and changes in literature, she also made diagnoses of the human condition in the modern world. Dr Grażyna Pietruszewska-Kobiela’s scientific achievements enriched the literary achievements of our University and the national scientific community.
