Rector, Vice-Rectors and Chancellor meet with journalists

The Rector, Prof. Janusz Kapuśniak, met with journalists. The purpose of the meeting with the media (it took place on September 3, 2024) was to present the vice-rectors who in the 2024-2028 term of office co-decide on the directions of development of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa. This group included:

- Vice-Rector for Cooperation & Internationalisation – Marcin Sosnowski, PhD, DSc, Eng., prof. UJD
- Vice-Rector for Research – dr hab. Bogusław Przywora, prof. UJD
- Vice-Rector for Organization & Development – Barbara Kowalska, PhD, DSc, Associate Professor
- Vice-Rector for Education & Student Affairs – Jakub Jakubowski, PhD, DSc, Associate Professor
- Vice-Rector for Collegium Medicum – dr hab. n. med., dr n. hum. dr h.c. Sławomir Letkiewicz, prof. UJD

University administration was represented by the Chancellor of the UJD - mgr inż. Maria Róg

It is worth noting that barely a quarter of an hour before the press conference, the Vice-Rectors received from the Rector their nominations authorising them to perform the functions entrusted to them. The Rector also assured of the continuation of cooperation with the Chancellor, mgr Maria Róg. The ceremony took place in the Rector's office.

During the conference, Prof. Kapuśniak outlined a vision of the University's development. He repeatedly drew attention to and emphasized the role played by the media today.

- In the beginning of my term of office, I focus on close cooperation with the media based on partner relations – says Prof. Janusz Kapuśniak. – I hope that through journalists it will be possible to build excellent relations with external partners, both with local government officials, entrepreneurs, educational, cultural and sports institutions, as well as potential candidates for studies and courses. I ask journalists to report on the activities of the university community in superlatives often and as much as possible! I believe that you will also work directly with the Vice-Rectors and the Chancellor, obtaining information directly from them.

In order to facilitate cooperation and get to know each other better, during the meeting the participants introduced themselves and informed about the scope of their duties. In the further part of the meeting, the Rector informed, among other things, about numerous novelties that will improve the quality of the work and functioning of the University. Among the new units that will carry out the tasks will be the recruitment office. According to the Rector, it is worth taking even more care of recruitment and trying to attract candidates by providing them with information about studies throughout the year. Support is also to be provided to the University's  staff by the newly established grant application office. Its activities will improve the process of raising funds. The Rector also paid attention to investments. Although many of them are implemented at the University (of varying value), Prof. Kapuśniak focused on two. The first one is the commencement of the demolition of the decommissioned building of the former seat of the Institute of Music, which is located at Chłopickiego 3. A Didactic Centre for Medical Sciences and Health Sciences is to be built on the plot. The next one is the renovation of the Senate Hall (in the building at Waszyngtona 4/8). According to the plan, the thoroughly modernised room will be put into use in the second half of November. There were also declarations regarding the deepening of cooperation and ties with graduates. The Rector and Vice-Rectors unanimously described them as "the best ambassadors of the University". Hence, many activities have been announced for their benefit, which are to encourage cooperation with the University.
