DIVERSE ACTIVITIES OF JDU STAFF DURING 8. SCIENCE FESTIVAL

Record-breaking - nearly 40 - activities were submitted by JDU academics to the upcoming 8. KATOWICE Science Festival (7-9 December 2024). So far, in the history of the University's participation in the event, so many topics have not been declared. The university is taking part in the Festival for the 6th time (since the 3rd edition).

- In this year's programme, visitors will find interesting lectures, exhibitions, workshops and shows that have been prepared by academics, students and doctoral students. Even our graduates have declared their participation in interesting topics, who, despite graduating, still have contact with science and its promotion - explains dr Karol Motyl, Rector's Representative for ŚFN KATOWICE. - We hope that our offer, as in previous years, will be well received and will attract many people interested in gaining new skills and knowledge. This will certainly affect our recognition and I believe that it will be related to the decisions of candidates who are thinking about choosing their studies.

Activities were submitted from all six Faculties that make up the structure of the University. They cover the vast majority of disciplines evaluated at the University. It is also worth noting that thanks to the JDU staff, the University better implements the assumptions set out in the mission regarding, the popularisation of science. It should also be noted that the offer includes topics related to environmental protection, which perfectly fit into the campaign that has been carried out for years by Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa - "University for the Earth". In this way, the university promotes all activities undertaken by employees for the benefit of the environment, building awareness of the need to protect and care for it. There is also information about the research undertaken for its benefit.
