CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR'S CONCERT AND AWARD CEREMONY FOR UNIVERSITY STAFF

In the festive atmosphere, preceding Christmas and the upcoming 2025 New Year, a commemorative meeting of the staff of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa (December 13, 2024) took place. Prof. Janusz Kapuśniak addressed those gathered in the "Auditorium Maximum":  I would like to congratulate you all and thank you for the work, effort and commitment you have put into the development of the University so far. Your actions are an invaluable contribution to building our common future. After the Rector's speech, artists from the Department of Music put the participants in a festive mood by presenting several songs. Then, individual and team awards were presented to the University's staff: academic teachers and non-academic teachers. In total, over 400 people were awarded. They were honoured, among others, for their scientific, didactic and organisational achievements. The award ceremony was conducted by the Vice-Rector for Research, prof. Bogusław Przywora, and the Vice-Rector for Education and Student Affairs, prof. Jakub Jakubowski.

The meeting also became a great moment to present the results of the competition for this year's Christmas card. Let us remind you that the winner of the competition was Kacper Zenderowski, a student of English Philology (Faculty of Humanities of JDU). His design won the recognition of most members of the competition committee, standing out for its creativity, aesthetics and interesting Christmas message with a university accent. He received an award and his design was used to prepare a Christmas card of 2024 – naturally, it was sent to friends and partners of the University. As a chronicler's duty, it should be added that 22 students of JDU (representing various fields of study) took part in the competition. The works of all students were presented to the audience gathered.

In order to feel Christmas better and thanks to the artists of the Department of Music of JDU – academics and students of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, the gathered people moved into the "world of Christmas rhythms of music".

The Academic Choir of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa under the direction of dr Marek Kudra presented a Christmas repertoire.

The concert was arranged and prepared by mgr Wojciech Królikowski together with dr Korneliusz Wiatr and dr Joanna Świniarska-Szebeszczyk.

We would like to thank our artists for the magic of musical experiences and all the staff who participated in the ceremony.
