UNIVERSITY COUNCIL INAUGURATED ITS WORK – RECTOR HANDED OVER APPOINTMENT ACTS

The members of the University Council elected by the JDU Senate (in December 2024) met with the Rector of JDU, prof. Janusz Kapuśniak (January 10, 2025). It was the first meeting that inaugurated its activity. During the ceremony, the Rector handed in the official acts of election to the Council (the term of office lasts from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2028).

- I am counting on good cooperation between the members of the Council and the University authorities, as well as the entire academic community - emphasized the Rector, prof. Janusz Kapuśniak. - Let us remember that we are united by a common goal, which is the development and future of our University.

Members from outside the University community:
- mgr Jacek Będkowski (appointed as the Chairman of the UC),

Members from the University community:
- prof. dr hab. Anna Wypych-Gawrońska
- dr hab. Bartosz Frączek, prof. UJD
- dr Przemysław Sznurkowski, prof. UJD.

The University Council (by virtue of law) also included the Chairwoman of the University Student Government Council of the University, Julia Rozpądek. 

The meeting was also attended by the Vice-Rectors: prof. Bogusław Przywora, prof. Barbara Kowalska, prof. Jakub Jakubowski, prof. Sławomir Letkiewicz, as well as the JDU Chancellor, mgr Maria Róg. In order to get to know each other better, the participants of the meeting introduced themselves and explained the scope of their activities.

The University Council deals with, among other things: giving opinions on reports on the implementation of the University's strategy, monitoring the management of the University, as well as nominating candidates for the Rector (after receiving an opinion from the Senate) and performing other tasks specified in the Statutes and regulations.
