I MEDIATION ROUND TABLE AT JAN DLUGOSZ UNIVERSITY IN CZESTOCHOWA

On January 15, 2025, the First Mediation Round Table will be held at Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa (beginning at 3:30 pm in the Senate Hall of JDU at Waszyngtona 4/8). It is a form of debate between representatives of science, courts, law enforcement agencies, municipal authorities, mediators, attorneys, legal advisors, non-governmental organisations, business organisations and education at all levels on ways to popularise mediation in the local community. The participants of the First Mediation Round Table are united by the belief that mediation is an important element of social life, contributing to the creation of conditions conducive to understanding, conflict resolution and strengthening cooperation in various areas of public and private life. The debate will focus on indicating the possibility of undertaking joint educational, promotional and organisational activities that will contribute to the dissemination of knowledge about mediation and its practical application.

The event is organised by the Interdisciplinary Centre for Research on Education, Legal Aid and Mediation. It is a research unit established on the initiative of researchers from the Faculty of Law and Economics of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa. It deals with interdisciplinary research on the borderline of: law, sociology, philosophy and psychology, as well as economic analysis of law. The Centre creates a platform for the exchange of ideas between theoreticians and practitioners (including representatives of the community of judges, advocates, legal advisors, mediators, psychologists). The area of the unit's activity includes helping people in need, especially from families requiring special care. In the years 2024-2027, the Centre is implementing a project co-financed by the Minister of Science and Higher Education entitled "Legal education as an instrument for raising legal awareness of society" as part of the "Science for Society II" programme (Reg. No.: NdS-II/SP/0467/2023/01). Funds in the amount of PLN 453,040.00 were granted. The project leader is prof. Bogusław Przywora.

The co-organiser of the First Round Table on Mediation is the "In dubio pro libertate" Foundation. The event is held under the patronage of the Rector of Jan Dlugosz University, the President of the District Court in Częstochowa, , the Mayor of the City of Częstochowa, the District Bar Council in Częstochowa, the District Chamber of Legal Advisers in Opole. Media patronage: Gazeta Regionalna and Orion TV. The supporting patrons are: Asten Group, Lider Nieruchomości, Lider Cars. Due to the limited number of seats, only invited guests can take part in the event.
