KEY INVESTMENTS ARE GETTING CLOSER AND CLOSER!

The authorities of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa do not cease their efforts to expand the University. This is confirmed by continuous attempts aimed at expanding the University's accommodation base. Recently, an information board has been placed on the plot of JDU at Chłopickiego 3 in Częstochowa, on which there is an inscription: "The building of the Didactic Centre for Medical & Health Sciences of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa will be built here." The text is illustrated with the design of the object.

- At the moment, I am not yet able to give a specific date for the start of construction, but I can assure you that we are getting closer to the implementation of this important investment - explains the Rector prof. Janusz Kapuśniak. - We have not stopped trying to obtain the full amount that is necessary to implement our plans even for a moment. On this matter, I am holding talks with parliamentarians, ministries of science and health, the Marshal's Office in Katowice and the local government. I hope that the large-scale efforts will soon bear fruit.

In the opinion of the Rector, the plaque is to be a clear signal that the University authorities are really thinking about the expansion of the University, and what is related to it, providing employees, students and doctoral students with modern conditions for studying and conducting research at the highest level. They are counting on the mobilisation of decision-makers and support for the implementation of not only ambitious plans, but above all a much-needed investment. They emphasize that it will serve not only the University, but indirectly also all residents of Częstochowa and the region, which is acutely affected by the lack of doctors and other highly qualified health care workers on the labour market.

A similar opinion is held by the Dean of the Wladyslaw Bieganski Collegium Medicum, prof. Leon Rak.

- The investment is very necessary and indispensable for the development of Collegium Medicum and the fields of education conducted by the unit - explains prof. Leon Rak. - We plan to set up teaching and research laboratories in the field of medical sciences and health sciences. It is worth noting that after the completion of construction, the facility will enable us to better plan classes, improve communication between the buildings, and in other words, enable better consolidation of the Collegium Medicum. I would like to mention here that at the same time we are preparing an investment on the plot at Okólna 17/19. There we plan to set up a mono-profile and multi-profile medical simulation centre. Therefore, we hope that in the near future the Collegium will gain even two facilities.

The students of the medical faculty also speak in superlatives.

- The design presented on the board indicates that the building will be modern and will certainly enable us to gain better conditions for acquiring knowledge and skills - says Magdalena Duliban, a second-year student of medicine at JDU.

- In my opinion, the building will perfectly fit into the entire university campus after the completion of the construction - says Julia Dawid, a second-year student of medicine. - It will fit well with the neighbouring buildings, especially with the building of the Faculty of Law and Economics.

Let us remind you that the area of the building is to be about 3 thousand square meters.
