JOURNALISTS INQUIRING ABOUT BARTŁOMIEJ KOWALIK’S SUCCESS

The employees of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa do not cease in their efforts to increase the internationalisation of the University. The numerous successes that we have already informed about in recent weeks include Bartłomiej Kowalik’s achievement. Let us remind you that during the conference "Foreign Students in Poland 2025", Bartłomiej Kowalik received a prestigious award and the title of "Star of Internationalisation 2025" in the Rising Star category! Journalists asked about the internationalisation and success of the employee during a press conference dedicated to this event (held on February 6, 2025).

- I am very happy that I have been awarded the award - says Bartłomiej Kowalik, MA, chief specialist in charge of the Department for International Cooperation of Jan Dlugosz University. - This is a great personal success, but also important for our entire academic community. I hope that it will translate into an increase in the recognition of our University and an increase in its prestige. These are important factors that in a way determine candidates' decisions regarding studies or the choice of the country in which they obtain their education.

During the meeting with the media, the Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Internationalisation, prof. Marcin Sosnowski, also spoke.

- Congratulating you on your success, I would like to emphasize that it is part of our activities aimed at increasing the number of students from abroad studying at our University - explains prof. Marcin Sosnowski. - This academic year, we are educating over 6 thousand students. This group includes a group of nearly 300 foreigners. Through promotion, which involves, for instance, participation in educational fairs, we want to increase the number of students from abroad. It will be optimal if it is possible to obtain about 10 percent of foreigners in relation to Poles. Of course, we are open to anyone who wants to gain knowledge and skills at our University!

The group of foreigners are students of JDU from Ukraine, Ghana, Kyrgyzstan, France and Nigeria, among others. It is worth noting that the University offers education in nearly ten fields of study, where education is conducted in English. Among them there are study programmes completed with an engineering diploma.

As far as the success of mgr Kowalik is concerned, it is worth recalling that the employee received the award during a meeting held in Gdańsk (in the last days of January 2025), which was organised by the Perspektywy Education Foundation in cooperation with the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland and the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities.

This highest recognition went to our employee for the numerous activities he planned, implemented and carried out. They concerned internationalisation. Among them, the activities aimed at coordinating the Erasmus + programme, Horizon 2020 and the NAWA PROM programme deserve to be emphasised. At our University, Mr Kowalik initiated the creation of the Erasmus+ Student Club, which unites students from abroad. Among his greatest achievements is the University's participation in the COLOURS European Universities alliance.

On a daily basis, Bartłomiej Kowalik is the chief specialist in charge of the Department for International Cooperation of Jan Dlugosz University. he has been working at the University since 2018.
