PRESENTATION OF MICHELANGELO'S “LAST JUDGEMENT"

In the multimedia Sistine Chapel, a sketch of "The Last Judgement" was presented, the authorship of which is attributed to Michelangelo. The sketch made with pen and brown ink on parchment was purchased by a Polish collector at an auction at the Auction House in Switzerland in 2019.

The research carried out so far has confirmed the high probability that the work is a sketch of the concept of the fresco in the Sistine Chapel by Michelangelo. A copy of the work is to be made available to scientists around the world. The sketch was presented to the public on the occasion of the 550th anniversary of Michelangelo's birth.

Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa was represented by the Vice-Dean for Education and Student Affairs of the Faculty of Art, dr Artur Wawrzkiewicz.
