"ENGLISH IN MEDICINE" NATIONAL COMPETITION - FINAL GALA 

On March 18, 2025, the final gala of the second edition of the National Competition for Secondary School Students "English in Medicine", co-organised with the Adam Mickiewicz High School No. 5 in Częstochowa, was held at the Collegium Medicum of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa.

This year's edition was attended by over 600 students from all over Poland. The 21 participants who achieved the best results in the earlier stages of the competition qualified for the finals.

The gala was hosted by the Vice-Dean of Collegium Medicum, prof. Magdalena Myga-Nowak. The participants were welcomed by the Vice-Rector of the Collegium Medicum, prof. Sławomir Letkiewicz, Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Internationalisation prof. Marcin Sosnowski, and Headmaster of the V High School Małgorzata Witek.

The event was also attended by representatives of the Częstochowa City Hall and the Regional Teacher Training Center "WOM" in Częstochowa, as well as teachers – supervisors of the finalists.

During the gala, a lecture entitled "The history of radiotherapy in Poland" was given by prof. Joanna Socha. Prof. Marcin Sosnowski presented a new initiative of the University – the Alliance of European Universities "Colours", which aims to support international cooperation.

·        I place: Brunon Kachel – A. Mickiewicz High School No. 3 in Katowice
·        II place: Mateusz Kolanus – I High School in Radomsko
·        III place: Wojciech Deneko – A. Mickiewicz School Complex No. 1 in Lubliniec

Distinctions:
·        Szymon Rajdok (A. Mickiewicz School Complex No. 1 in Lubliniec)
·        Dominika Bystrzykowska (School Complex in Krzepice)

During the ceremony, the winners and distinction holders were awarded prizes and diplomas.
