ART THERAPY CENTRE
The Faculty of Social Sciences of JDU has established the Art Therapy Centre, which operates within the structure of the Interdisciplinary Scientific and Research Centre. The newly established formation is open, inviting employees and students of various faculties of JDU, as well as representatives of creative and educational environments and people associated with the medical community.
The aim of ATC is to popularise various forms of art therapy and the possibilities of their use in therapeutic and educational work. The Centre undertakes activities related to the optimisation of the quality of life, consisting in preventing life difficulties and overcoming obstacles standing in the way of self-fulfilment, as well as creating opportunities for one's own expression with the use of various artistic means. Dedicated meetings based on mindfulness and accompaniment are also held. We also offer substantive supervision over the creation of new art therapy paths. We offer supervision in the field of art therapy for visual arts. In addition to active creative activities, we conduct research using art therapy techniques and methods. Theoretical models of support are also being developed using current findings of empirical research in the field of art therapy and related areas.
As part of cooperation with the social environment, the Art Therapy Centre can provide services for educational institutions, psychological and pedagogical counselling centres and medical units, and develop programmes of art therapy workshops aimed at the specific needs of workplaces, corporations and entrepreneurs.
