III NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF DOCTORAL SCHOOLS
On April 3-4, 2025, the Third National Conference of Doctoral Schools was held in Krakow. The conference was organised by the National Association of Doctoral Schools, and the host of the meeting was the Doctoral School of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, which provided space for substantive and inspiring discussions.
The meeting was attended by 171 participants, representing doctoral schools from all over the country, and among the invited guests were representatives of institutions of key importance for doctoral education, i.e. representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange NAWA, and the team for the evaluation of doctoral schools of the Science Evaluation Committee. The aim of the event was a broad exchange of experiences on the functioning of doctoral schools in Poland, and individual discussion panels were devoted, among others, to the evaluation of doctoral schools, school financing, supervisor care, internationalisation and the status of a doctoral student at the university.
The Doctoral School of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa was represented by the Head of the Doctoral School of JDU prof. Alina Gil, and the Deputy Head prof. Hanna Kaczmarek. The participation of the authorities of our Doctoral School in the conference enabled the exchange of experiences on key aspects of doctoral student education, related problems and the possibilities of solving them, establishing new contacts and gaining valuable information about good practices that will contribute to the further improvement of the process of educating doctoral students at the JDU Doctoral School.
The next edition of the conference in 2026 will be organised by the University of Wrocław.
